Services Provided
Gardeners Shortlands offers a comprehensive range of horticultural services tailored to meet your garden's needs. Our services include, but are not limited to:
- Garden Design and Planning: Creating bespoke garden layouts that suit your preferences and the local environment.
- Regular Maintenance and Lawn Care: Mowing, weeding, fertilizing, and general upkeep to ensure a healthy garden.
- Planting and Landscaping: Selection and installation of plants, shrubs, trees, and other flora to enhance your garden's aesthetic.
- Pruning and Trimming: Shaping and maintaining plants for optimal growth and appearance.
- Seasonal Clean-ups: Preparing your garden for seasonal changes, including leaf removal and debris clearance.
- Hardscaping Services: Installation of non-living features such as pathways, patios, retaining walls, and garden structures.
- Irrigation System Installation and Maintenance: Setting up and maintaining efficient watering systems to promote plant health.
Pricing and Payment
Our pricing structure is based on the scope, complexity, and duration of the services provided. Here are the details of our pricing and payment terms:
- Estimates and Quotes: A detailed estimate will be provided after assessing the requirements of your garden. This estimate is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
- Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total estimated cost may be required to secure your booking. This deposit covers initial materials and scheduling.
- Payment Schedule: For larger projects, payments may be structured in stages, aligned with the completion of specific milestones. The payment schedule will be outlined in the service agreement.
- Payment Methods: We accept various payment methods, including cash, cheques, and major credit cards. Electronic transfers may also be accommodated upon request.
- Invoices: Clients will receive an invoice upon completion of services or according to the agreed-upon payment schedule. Invoices are payable within 14 days of receipt.
- Late Payments: Late payments may incur interest charges at a rate of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance or the maximum rate permitted by law, whichever is lower.
- Additional Costs: Any additional services or materials requested by the client that were not included in the original estimate will be billed separately.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that circumstances may change, necessitating the cancellation of scheduled services. The following terms apply to cancellations:
- Cancellation Notice: Clients must provide a minimum of 14 days' written notice to cancel any scheduled service without incurring additional fees.
- Cancellations within 14 Days: If a client cancels within 14 days of the scheduled service date, a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the total service cost will be applied.
- No-Shows: Failure to appear for a scheduled service without prior notification may result in the full service fee being charged.
- Rescheduling: Clients may request to reschedule services. Rescheduling is subject to availability and may not warrant a full refund of the deposit.
- Refunds: Deposits are non-refundable. However, if services have not yet commenced, clients may request a refund of any unused portion of deposits, subject to administrative fees.
Liability
Gardeners Shortlands commits to providing professional and reliable services. However, the following limitations of liability apply:
- Property Damage: We take great care to protect your property during service provision. In the unlikely event of accidental damage, Gardeners Shortlands will cover the cost of repair or replacement, limited to the value of the damaged property.
- Personal Injury: We are not liable for any personal injury sustained by the client or third parties unless caused by our negligence.
- Indirect Damages: We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of revenue or enjoyment of property.
- Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures to perform responsibilities due to causes beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, acts of government, or labor disputes.
- Total Liability: Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or services provided shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client to Gardeners Shortlands for the service in question.
Intellectual Property
All designs, plans, documentation, and materials created by Gardeners Shortlands remain the exclusive intellectual property of the company unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing. Clients are granted a non-transferable license to use these materials for personal purposes only.
- Usage Rights: Clients may use designs and plans for executing the services but may not distribute, reproduce, or adapt them without prior consent.
- Proprietary Information: Any proprietary techniques, methods, or practices employed by Gardeners Shortlands are confidential and must not be disclosed without authorization.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from the use of our services or these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
Amendments to Terms
Gardeners Shortlands reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified in writing of any changes. Continued use of our services after such amendments constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. Please refer to our separate Privacy Policy document, which details how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. By using our services, you consent to the practices outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptance of Terms

Severability

Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the client and Gardeners Shortlands concerning the services provided, superseding all prior agreements, representations, or understandings.
